FORS 6637 - Advanced Forensic Imaging Prerequisite or co-requisite: FORS 6618 . This course will explore the use of advanced imaging techniques as they relate to crime scene and evidence documentation. A large portion of the course focuses on digital image capture and the latter portion on digital image processing using Adobe Photoshop and other software. The course includes extensive hands-on experience both in photography as well as image processing labs. Much of the course focuses on the ability to resolve more detail than traditional photographic documentation of crime scenes and evidence offer. Primarily, evidence photography focuses on the ability to resolve detail by physical resolution (size of the image), bit depth resolution (number of colors displayed), and spatial resolution (the ability to see fine details). Photogrammetry, reflected UV/ IR, ALS cross-polarized light photography, and 360 video topics are also explored. 3 credits.
