MATH 2228 - Elementary Statistics Prerequisite: MATH 1127 or placement by the department. A non-calculus based course which includes basic probability theory, random variables and their distributions, estimation and hypothesis testing, regression and correlation. Emphasis on an applied approach to statistical theory with applications chosen from the biological sciences and other fields of study. Students will be introduced to and make use of the computer package SPSS for data analysis. 4 credits
