Director: Quinn Duclos, Ph.D., M.S., CHES(R)

This program of study, leading to a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree, gives students the best possible preparation for careers in public health. Our interdisciplinary curriculum equips you with the skills and experience to excel in the 21st century health workforce and enables you to contribute to the quest of improving the public's health. Public health is more than a job - it's a calling to make a difference.

The vision of the University of New Haven's MPH program is that all individuals and communities, regardless of identify or circumstance, have equitable opportunities to achieve optimal health and well-being. The program's mission is to prevent disease, promote health, protect the well-being, and achieve health equity for all populations at local, regional, national, and global levels. This mission is achieved by providing students a high-quality interdisciplinary education from a diverse faculty and by fostering community partners to enhance the student's experiential education, research, and service.

Graduates enjoy meaningful careers helping people and communities in an influential way. Whether it's halfway across the world, or right in your backyard, students graduate from the program prepared to identify health problems and implement health programs to help people live better lives. The learning experiences enable students to develop broad technical skills as well as the organizational competencies needed to thrive in a wide range of settings in which public health professionals work, including state and local government, non-governmental organizations, hospitals, research institutions, policy-making institutions, and community health programs, among others. Some students pursue additional graduate education, while most directly enter the workforce.

Our program is one of only a handful of STEM-designated MPH programs nationwide, extolling benefits for the military and veteran populations as well as international students.
