This program provides students with a broad overview of mathematics and its applications, especially those students who wish to study pure mathematics or for those whose career objectives include mathematics education or the application of mathematics to fields such as business, economics, or the social sciences.
Students earning a B.A. degree with a mathematics major must complete a minimum of 123 credits. Courses include the University Core Curriculum, and the courses requirements indicated below. Note: some courses listed below fulfill University Core Curriculum requirements.

University Core Curriculum
All students majoring in BA mathematics must complete the 40 credits of University Core Curriculum with the following restrictions:
Required Math Courses (32 credits)
These classes are required of every student in the major.
Restricted Math Courses (3 credits)
Mathematics majors must take one additional math course selected from the following list:
Other Required Courses (16 credits)
Additional Courses (30 credits)
Additional 30 credits are from the University Core Curriculum. These 30 credits exclude all courses with a MATH prefix, CSCI 1110, PHYS 11150, and PHIL 2210.
