Communication, B.A., Film Production and Media Entrepreneurship Concentration

Students earning a B.A. degree in communication with a concentration in film production and media entrepreneurship will build the knowledge and skills related to film production in addition to a solid grounding in communication entrepreneurial fundamentals.  Through coursework emphasizing writing, production, and distribution, as well as laboratory and available internship opportunities, students will learn to become competent and well-rounded film production professionals.

Students earning a B.A. degree in communication with a concentration in film production and media entrepreneurship are required to complete a total of 121 credits as follows.

 

Program Outcomes

Students completing the program will:

1. demonstrate interpersonal and applied communication skills in human communication theory, writing for the media, and media design and production.

2. be effective team members.

3. complete increasingly complex aesthetic and skilled-based projects in strategic communication.

4. use industry-based software to create real world applied solutions.

Core Curriculum


The completion of 40 credits of university core courses with these restrictions:

  • CC 2.2: COMM 2200  Small Group Communication
  • CC 1.2: Written Communication
  • CC 8.2: Global and Intercultural Awareness
  • CC 9.2: Perspectives on Creative Arts

Plus two film production electives (6 credits)
