Graduate school has always encouraged interdisciplinary studies. To foster a broader expertise in the areas of healthcare administration and public health, a student can earn degrees in both fields by successfully completing the dual degree program. The M.H.A./M.P.H. dual degree program is designed for those whose interests include combining knowledge of healthcare systems and administrative skills with public health approaches and social science methodologies. The program broadly stresses the interconnected nature of health and healthcare in our society.
The M.H.A./M.P.H. program consists of 60 credits. Students will complete 18 unique M.H.A. credits, 24 unique M.P.H. credits, and 18 shared course credits between the degrees. Students pursuing the M.H.A./M.P.H. dual degree will be awarded both degrees concurrently upon successful completion of the 60 credits of required coursework.
Students in the dual degree program must complete one three-credit experiential learning requirement. Students may elect to complete one of the following courses to fulfill this requirement:
