Foundations of Organization Development and Change Certificate

This two-semester graduate certificate develops experienced  professionals in traditional and emerging approaches to engaging with change as a source of opportunity in organizations.The certificate is designed for those who are primarily interested in specific, concrete application of change principles in their organization. A requirement for the certificate is the design and implementation of a significant change initiative that furthers the mission of the learner's organization, business, or community.

This certificate will cover the theory, practice, tools, and applications for creating change in organizational systems.  This will be offered in a cohort and hybrid format, with mixed virtual and in person work, and encompasses a capstone project based on each student's unique organizational situation.  The program consist of four courses (12 credits).

Upon completion of this certificate, students will be able to:

•           Describe frameworks to understand the nature of change in complex organizations;
•           Demonstrate a systems thinking perspective when analyzing organizational change needs;
•           Design novel approaches to address organization development needs;
•           Apply ideas and concepts to one's current organizational challenges and dilemmas
