Sociology Minor

Please refer to important information on minor requirements on this page. A minimum of 18 credits (6 courses) is required for the minor in sociology. There are two plans of study for obtaining the minor, as outlined below.

Required Courses - Option A

SOCI 1113 - Sociology
One of the following courses:
SOCI 2250 - Research Methods
CJST 2250 - Scientific Methods in Criminal Justice
PSYC 3300 - Research Methods in Psychology
One of the following courses:
PSYC 3301 - Statistics for Behavioral Sciences
MATH 2228 - Elementary Statistics
CJST 2251 - Quantitative Applications in Criminal Justice
Additional Requirements:

The remaining three courses must be sociology electives that meet the approval of the Sociology chair.

Required Courses - Option B

SOCI 1113 - Sociology
Additional Requirements:

The remaining five courses must be sociology electives that meet the approval of the Sociology chair.
