The criminal justice program at the University of New Haven provides students with a basic understanding of criminal justice. The goal of the program is to prepare students for professional careers in criminal justice, public service, and social service organizations, as well as for future study in undergraduate programs in criminal justice or related fields.
Students earning the A.S. degree in criminal justice are required to complete at least 60 credits, including 21 credits of core curriculum.
PROGRAM OUTCOMES:
- Demonstrate the knowledge of theory, methods, and empirical findings related to issues of police, correction, and courts.
- Communicate criminal justice concepts orally and in writing.

- CC 1 - Written Communication: ENGL 1112 or ENGL 1113
- CC 2 - Oral Communication and Presentation: COMM 1130
- CC 3 - Mathematical and Quantitative Literacy: MATH 1108 or higher
- CC 5 - Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: UNIV 1125
- CC 7 - Individual and Society: CJST 1100
- Two additional courses at either Tier I or Tier 2.
