Please refer to important information on minor requirements on this page. Finance considers the basic premise of the time value of money and the tools to assess the risk and reward of a potential investment opportunity. A minor in finance offers a student not only a core theoretical foundation, but also imparts financial tools to apply that theory to assess investment opportunities. The minor may, via elective choices, introduce the student to various professional financial sub-specialties. In order to give the student sufficient foundation to master these theoretical underpinnings, a student must take ACCT 1101 Introduction to Financial Accounting and BANL 1100 or an equivalent for basic statistical analysis (with coordinator's approval).
A total of 18 credits is required for the minor in finance for non-business majors.
