The AA in General Studies is designed for affiliated external students. Students complete credit-bearing classes which result in an Associate's Degree.The AA in General Studies provides students with the opportunity to explore intellectual interests that are not realized through existing degree programs. The interdisciplinary nature of the General Studies program affords students exposure to a range of academic disciplines.
Program Outcomes:
Present clear information in an organized way in a public setting.
Explain assumptions, theses, and arguments that exist in the work of authors.
Organize, interpret, and evaluate evidence and ideas within and across disiplines to draw reasoned inferences and defensible conclusions.
Summarize the interconnectedness of their chosen areas of study and the ways in which these will help them achieve personal and professional goals.

- CC 1.1 - ENGL 1112 or ENGL 1113 or ENGL 1114
- CC 2.1 - COMM 1130
- CC 3.1 - MATH 1104 or MATH 1108 or higher
- CC 5.1 - Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
- Any Tier 1 course from CC 4, 6, 7, 8, or 9
- Any Tier 1 or Tier 2 course from any competency
- Any Tier 2 course from any competency
Additional Required Courses (39 credits)
- 12 free electives (36 credits)
- 1 course which fulfills the Writing Across the Curriculum requirement (3 credits)
