Requirements for Minors
- At least 50% of the minor courses must be unduplicated, i.e., not used to simultaneously satisfy credit requirements of the major, core curriculum, or additional minors.
- At least 50% of the minor courses must be completed in residence at UNH.
- A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required in the minor (programs may set higher requirements).
- A student may not declare a major and minor in the same program.
A total of 15 credits in history is required for a minor in history. All students must complete HIST 1000 : "Thinking Historically About..." and HIST 4492 : "Cross Disciplinary Directed Research." With the approval of the Chair of the History Program, students may apply a maximum of one 3-credit non-HIST prefix course that focuses on historical elements of their major field (e.g. CJST 3300 - History of Criminal Justice, or COMM 3340 - The History of Film). Students are limited to a maximum of two 1000-level HIST courses.
