Health Administration Minor

Requirements for Minors

  • At least 50% of the minor courses must be unduplicated, i.e., not used to simultaneously satisfy credit requirements of the major, core curriculum, or additional minors.
  • At least 50% of the minor courses must be completed in residence at UNH.
  • A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required in the minor (programs may set higher requirements).
  • A student may not declare a major and minor in the same program.

The minor in Health Administration will provide students from across a range of majors with the chance to learn about the U.S. healthcare system. Course offerings include instruction on health professions, the organization of the U.S. healthcare system, healthcare financing, laws and regulations governing healthcare practices, and standards for healthcare leadership. Students who complete this minor will be able to describe the distribution and financing of U.S. healthcare, identify a range of professionals associated with the health professions, explain the relevance of laws and regulations applicable to health professional practices, and demonstrate leadership skills and their ability to work in interprofessional teams. The skills and knowledge gained in this minor will prepare students to work in many fields associated with health sciences. 15 credits.
