Art and Creative Technology, B.A.

This program is designed to establish the foundation of a sustainable artistic practice by promoting technical proficiency, critical thinking, new technology and entrepreneurship. In addition to coursework that explores traditional media such as drawing, painting, and sculpture, students will gain skills in digtal imaging, animation and digital fabrication. With an emphasis on professional practices through mentorships and/or internships students will connect to the conteporary art world. By emphasizing writing, contemporary practices, museum studies, and new technology, students gain transferrable skills that align with many potential career paths within the creative industry. The program culminates in a thesis project that highlights the development of each student's creative output while connecting to the larger contexts of art history and culture. 

PROGRAM OUTCOMES

  • Develop a project that demonstrates the principles and elements of design.
  • Compare and contrast historical and contemporary art perspectives.
  • Create unique art projects that integrate technology.
  • Produce a successful thesis exhibition.
  • ​Formulate a marketing plan for a creative product or business.
     

Students earning a BA degree in Art and Creative Technology are required to complete a total of 121 credits.
