ARBC 4401 - Arabic Cultures Through Literature and the Media Prerequisite: ARBC 3301 or comparable proficiency as demonstrated in consultation with the instructor This course is a comprehensive exposure to essential cultural issues and patterns as they have developed historically in the Arabic-speaking world. It will study how these issues manifest through representative works of literature as well as popular and highbrow cultural media such as music and film. The course will also provide a unique opportunity to produce in-depth cultural and literary analyses via oral discussion and written essays. Students will perform select written and oral activities in Arabic. 3 credits
