ELEC 6604 - Discrete and Continuous Systems II Prerequisites: ELEC 6603 , MATH 5511 or consent of the instructor. Proficiency in Mathematica, or MATLAB is desirable. Mathematical review: Quadratic forms, convergence, matrix calculus, solutions to systems of linear equations. Nonlinear state equation representation of physical systems: linearization of nonlinear state equations about trajectories, time-varying state equation solutions, Peano-Baker series, existence, uniqueness, complete solution, time-varying state transition matrix properties, time-invariant case. Stability: uniform stability, uniform exponential stability, Lyapunov stability criteria. 3 credits.
