PHAS 6022 - Person Centered Care

Prerequisite: successful completion of 19 credit hours in the Physician Associate program; co-requisites: PHAS 6011, PHAS 6021, PHAS 6031, PHAS 6041, PHAS 6051. This course explores the factors that influence patient reaction to illness and injury, compliance to treatment plan and development of coping strategies. The student is provided with the knowledge needed to tailor care in a person-centered manner. Emphasis is placed upon the factors influencing an optimal provider-patient therapeutic relationship. 2 credits.
