Italian Studies Minor

The minor combines courses in basic, intermediate, and advanced language, as well as literature, history and Italian culture. If students begin at a level beyond ITAL 1102 , they can take additional area study courses to meet the 18-credit hour requirement. Advanced courses and additional area study under ITAL course code are taught entirely in Italian.

Notes:
- Students who studied more than one year of Italian prior to attending the university will need to take the placement test in order to determine their level of proficiency. If students place higher than 1102, they will substitute the class(es) they outplaced with additional area study courses in order to meet the 18-credit hour requirement.
- Special Topics in Italian or about Italian culture may satisfy the area study courses requirements with approval of the Modern Language Coordinator.
