Return to: College of Business
The M.S. in Sport Management with a concentration in Sport Analytics is a focused degree designed to provide a comprehensive underpinning to understand and manage financial data and decision making. For students who choose to complete the master's program with a concentration in sport analytics, the program includes six sport/facility management core courses, and four of the concentration courses listed below, including SMGT 6620, SMGT 6623, and SMGT 6625. Students who have not taken a managerial accounting course and a financial accounting course (and received at least a B or higher grade in that class) before starting the program will need to take ACCT 6620 Financial Accounting for Managers in place of SMGT 6623.
Instead of an internship, students pursuing the M.S. in Management of Sports Industries with a concentration in Sport Analytics will undertake a comprehensive independent study analyzing a sport/entertainment-related business and its financial condition with a view to future growth and strategic analysis.
