Music Technology and Innovation, Electronics Concentration, B.S.

The Bachelor of Science in music technology and innovation provides students with a working knowledge of the sound recording industry, a solid foundation in music, and the technological skills to shape the future of the field. Coursework focuses on three interrelated areas: 1) music theory, history, and aesthetics, 2) musicianship; and 3) sound recording methodology and technique. Coursework for the BS in Music Technology and Innovation with a concentration in Electronics places a focus on the science and technology of recording through classes in calculus, physics, and electrical engineering.

Program Outcomes

Students will be able to:  

1.) ... synthesize a broad range of creative and technical frameworks in the analysis of music.  

2.) ... evaluate mediated music and sound with respect to their cultural and societal context.  

3.) ... apply technology in the service of aesthetic goals.  

4.) ... design, upgrade, and maintain analog audio systems through their understanding of advanced mathematics and electronics. 

 

All students majoring in the B.S. in music technology and innovation must complete 124-125 credits.
