HLTH 2403 - Anatomy and Physiology of Speech and Hearing Mechanisms Prerequisites: HLTH 2400 , BIOL 2259 & BIOL 2260 or PARA 2230 & PARA 2231 ,Health Sciences major. This purpose of this course is to introduce students to the anatomy (structure) and physiology (function) of the systems and processes involved in human speech production. The anatomical and physiological bases of normal speech and hearing processes, including respiration, phonation, articulation, and hearing will be covered within this course. Knowledge gained serves as a prerequisite for understanding disorders of these systems. 3 credits.
