PHAS 6040 - Clinical Medicine I Prerequisite: acceptance into the Physician Associate program; co-requisites: PHAS 6000 , PHAS 6001 , PHAS 6010 , PHAS 6020 , PHAS 6030 , PHAS 6050 . This course is the first of a 3-part series that focuses on integration of epidemiology, risk factors (including genetics, as applicable), pathophysiology, signs and symptoms, history and physical findings, laboratory and diagnostic tests, differential diagnosis, therapeutic management, implications, prevention measures, prognosis, patient education and follow-up of emergent and non-emergent disorders encountered in primary care across the lifespan. The following body systems are included: psychiatry, hematology, oncology, dermatology, and conclude with disorders of the head, ear, eye, nose, and throat. This course is synchronized with the Clinical Assessment I and Pharmacology I courses 5 credits.
